Thought Provokers

For the past year or so, I've been quite troubled by a few logical inconsistencies I've noticed in life.  I've struggled to either find an explanation to them or to cope with them, but to this point, I have found little success with either.  I now turn to you, the faithful reader, for help.  If you can explain any of these, I will forever be indebted to you!

1. Why is "Palindrome" spelled backwards not "Palindrome?"  Couldn't they have come up with a more fitting word?
2. Why is there only one word that means "Thesaurus?"
3. Why don't British people have accents when they sing?  Seriously...Where do they hide the accent?
4. Goose --> Geese.  Mongoose --> Mongooses.  What the Hell happened to "Mongeese?"

  1. Those are the mysteries of life. They are not meant to be answered.

Motivation is a mystery. Why does one salesperson see his first prospect at seven in the morning and another salesperson is just getting out of bed at eleven? I don't know. It's part of the mysteries of life.

Give a lecture to a thousand people. One walks out and says, “I'm going to change my life." Another one walks out with a yawn and says, "I've heard all this before." Why is that? Why wouldn't both be affected the same way? Another mystery.

The millionaire says to a thousand people, "I read this book and it started me on the road to wealth." Guess how many go out and get the book? Very few. Isn't that incredible? Why wouldn't everyone get the book? A mystery of life.

  2. 1. Time zones?
    2. One believes in hard work, and the other a welfare state?
    3. The guy who said that was the author?
